Doctor's & MIS Parking Lot Closure - Effective May 4th

Please be advised that the Doctor’s & MIS Parking Lot will permanently close on Monday, May 4, to support construction of the new HUH academic medical center. This transition is a critical step in advancing Howard University Hospital’s future. Please review the below information to help you successfully navigate the upcoming parking changes.
 

What You Need to Know (Doctor’s Parking Lot Reassignment):

  • Registered vehicles assigned to the Doctor’s Parking Lot will be reassigned to:

    • Visitor Parking Lot (Georgia Avenue NW, South Entrance)

    • Visitor Parking Lot (Tower’s Building - 5th Street NW, Entrance)

  • Access will be granted via the existing TAG-B badge-in/badge-out system

  • TAG-B will suspend badge access if a vehicle is not registered

  • Parking in both Visitor’s Lots will be on a first come, first served basis

  • Additional parking is available in the A1 & A2 Parking Garages

 

What You Need to Know (MIS Parking Lot Reassignment):

  • Registered vehicles assigned to the MIS Parking Lot will be reassigned to:

    • A1 & A2 Parking Garages

 

Important Reminders:

  • All vehicles parking in the Visitor Parking Lots and A1 & A2 Parking Garages must be registered and linked to TAG-B’s license plate recognition program

  • Unregistered vehicles will be fined and/or towed at the owner’s expense

  • The HU Department of Public Safety (DPS) will patrol and monitor all parking lots

  • All parking lots will have ample lighting for safety

  • TAG-B will serve as the primary point of contact for all parking related issues: Parking Office: 202-865-7521; Parking Attendant: 202-595-4956

  • Directional signage will be in place at key campus entry points to guide you to the appropriate parking areas. Destination signage will also be in place at each parking lot, notifying you of your parking location.

  • Parking FAQs are attached to this email for your convenience

  • Howard University Hospital will continue to adhere to ADA compliance, ensuring accessible parking and accommodations for individuals with disabilities

 

Did You Know
DPS will provide an escort to your parked vehicle at any HUH parking lot?

  • Just call 202-865-1103

  • Provide your name, area of work and where your vehicle is parked

  • A Public Safety Team Member will meet you and provide the escort to your car
